Yes. But System 7.5 and above can mount the disk as a foreign
file system volume.  It can format them when you insert blank
diskettes.  It is much easier in 7.5 than in 7.0.1 which had the
program Apple File Exchange.  Apple File Exchange only seemed
to work with text files and other file types that the Apple knew
about. I didn't find it too useful and it didn't seem to want to
transfer the files that I wanted right.  I have found that system
7.5 is much better at is than the earlier systems.
