I find that AppleWorks (formerly ClarisWorks Office) for the Mac to be
incredibly quick, stable, productive, and it doesn't use much memory.
Perhaps you might want to give that a try?
I know some Apple II people cringed when Apple changed the name of
ClarisWorks into AppleWorks (for the Mac and Windows versions) because the
original AppleWorks was for the A2 platform....but I would invite them to
give it a spin on their Mac or PC systems...I think they would be
pleasantly surprised and satisfied with it.
Just my two cents.
Of course, if you would rather be productive with the Apple II, then the
original AppleWorks is just fine too!!! :)
