Sorry William, that's also False, I run a Sony CDU926S Caddy burner on my
AHS card on the GS (only as a reader of course). The only driver I use is
the SCSI driver required for the AHS card. On the other hand I have a CD55U
which doesn't work on the GS, so you are partly right.

I have run my AHS and Focus in the GS at the same time, and know of no
settings I ever had to save. The exception to this is might be the Focus
CDEV which has a shutdown/inactivity timer, perhaps that's the settings you
refer to. Make sure the boot drive has both the Focus driver and SCSI driver
for best results. The Focus driver is not essential, but the SCSI one is
otherwise you won't see any SCSI devices at all. I have both drivers on both
HDDs so I can effectively plug-n-play.

besides www.a2central.com , Byteworks sold the disks and manual, but I
believe you can now buy all Byteworks products through A2Central.
