Tweezers shouldn't be able to remove a properly seated disk.
When you slide a disk into the drive, it should be pushed in until
it makes a recognizable "thunk" as the mechanism moves into its
operating position. The disk is then locked in the drive until the
eject mechanism is operated either by the eject motor or by the
mechanical force of a large (straightened) paper clip pushed into
the hole near (in?) the eject button.
As soon as the disk is in position, GS/OS will read it's volume ID
if the drive is working. Normally, depressing the eject button will
do just what you expect. (Of course, if the disk is not fully inserted,
then the eject button will do nothing.)
