A lot depends on what kind of data he has.  It's not true that only text 
files convert well...it IS true that text files will be easiest to 
convert, as there's not much conversion effort needed.  But pass on some 
info about what he remembers having placed on those disks -- and note 
that I've added an Apple2 group to this in hopes that someone there will 
have a more thorough response.
