I don't use a modem these days other than for Faxing a document.
I use a cable modem.

My last modem I PAID for was a Hayes 33.3K modem I bought
for my PC.  I hated WinModems since they were VERY unreliable.
Dropped connections, missing drivers and mysterious reinstalls.

I then went to a hardware Hayes 33.3k modem which had
a free upgrade to 56K Rockwell modem-KFlex.  Which
had a free upgrade to a 56K v.90 modem so I haven't bought
a modem since about 1997 thanks to Hayes upgrade policy.

However, I never recommend software WinModems to anyone.
The last customer I helped upgrade their system I got them a
real hardware modem.  No sense getting one of them software
unreliable modems.  You can keep them. Thank you very much.
