hi folks,
first of all, if this has been attempted before, just point me in that
direction.
ok now the request - I know personally as I'm starting to slowly put
together my A2 collection, it's becomes very difficult to know 'what' items
originally shipped with the various A2 hardware (both from Apple and 3rd
party vendors).
In addition, personally - I think it would be neat to be able to take a
current system (either put together piece by piece) or picked up at a flea
market/etc. and refer to a chart to figure out what that system 'would' have
cost back when it was introduced (i.e. what was the cost of a HS-SCSI board,
or a AE internal HD - how much DID apple charge for a ROM-3 GS?).
soooo, if there is enough interest out there, and you've got a packing list
or a price list, I'd like to ask you to either email me or reply to this
posting with the following:
o the item name, price (and the currency), source and date of the price (if
at all possible, try to keep it to the manufacturer's original price since
mag prices varied way too much depending on sales/clearance/etc.)
o if you own a packing list, the items originally shipped with that product
(name, and product number/id/etc.) or if you must, a scan (zip it please as
I'm not blessed with a large mailbox limit) of the list.
I'm willing to put together the stuff into a FAQ of sorts and repost - both
the packing lists and an item-price list/chart. I fear that this sort of
info is quickly being lost as mags/boxes/etc. are being thrown away; some of
the info regarding the original A2/A2+ packlist/price may already be gone.
thanks,
thomas
