Well I'd say 

1.) Download stuff in .dsk format, possibly dsk.gz or an archive that
contains .dsk images.

2.) Get it to your PC. I guess you know better than I do how to get them
there, I have little Mac experience.

3.) Hook your PC's COM port to the super serial card of the Apple II+ or
IIe. You can use either a null modem cable (set the SSC to "modem") or a
straight-through cable (serial extension cable) (set the SSC to
"printer"). Make sure you buy a cable that has the right plugs on the
ends! 

4.) Get "ADT for Windows". A web search should turn it up.

5.) Follow the instructions included with ADT to get the Apple side
program over to the Apple.

6.) Transfer the images with ADT.
