Re: Platinum 5.25" drive problem

I was once working in a hospital near an MRI machine (magnetic resonance
imaging) a cleaner had left a metal trashcan at the doorway of the room. When
the MRI machine was switched on that can flew about 45 feet and attached itself
to the machines surround. If you used a magnet that powerful yes I'd say you
would magnetize disk drive heads but as I have said before I have been
resurrecting 3.5" HD disks for over 3 years without any problems with my 3.5"
drives. I have been repairing electronic items for over 30 years without ever
hearing of this sort of problem before. I know I don't know everything
electronic but I doubt that the heads would be magnetized.
