The problem with Crossposting is that it is sent to start a flamewar.
Most crossposters will post a message to multiple groups knowing
that it will inflame each group differently.  For instance, posting a
glowing review of an Apple product in a Commodore forum will
get Commodore people irate and feel they need to defend their
platform of choice.  Posting negative comments on the Commodore
platform also has the same effect if a message is crossposted to
that forum. On the other hand, if the message was crossposted
to the Tandy forum, they might agree with how horrible the
Commodore was and cause the Commodore people to get defensive.

Top-posting is placing your reply before the text you are replying
to.
