This may be *closer* to the truth... I remember seeing on a TV news
magazine show a few years ago...they showed a microscopic picture of
a 1k RAM chip made in the Soviet Union. And the chip internals still
had the Intel logo on it...

It is an "open secret" that sometime in the 1970's, the Soviets stopped
developing their own computer technology and started "borrowing" the
computer technology from the West...
