Just to inject some levity into the group, and to show Apple that we don't
TOTALLY hate them for abandoning the Apple II line in favour of other
technology that the Apple II's paid for, I thought we could build a top 10
list saying why it's nice to keep an old Mac lying around! Here are a few
items that recently pertained to my particular situation:

10. It can be used as a cheap file server for your Apple II.
9. It can be used as a bridge to let your IIgs get at the rest of your LAN.
8. They often have batteries that are compatible with your Apple IIgs.
(#8 just happened to me tonight! My IIgs battery died, so I cracked up an
old Mac SE, and lo'n'behold, the same kind of battery! A couple of snips
later, and my IIgs could remember the time again...)
Any other items? :)
Cheers!
