the version) and will have to acquire a GSOS, I'm sure. Also does anyone
know of an Apple II list like the ClassicMac list?

Kris, who has had Macs since '84 and x86 clones from the 8088 on and started
on a kit Sinclair Z80 but has never had an Apple II, till now!
If this is the model I am thinking of you need an SCSI card. Once you have the interface, all you need is to format it somehow. It is a useful size for storing GSOS. It *should* work.
