I suspect it's an OS issue. I think I have 7.1 or some such on that Mac - I
will have to check later and maybe upgrade to 7.6. The CD drive is an
old/weird one. A NEC Intersect CR-73, I think. I actually needed drivers
for it, even though it's SCSI! That's the nice thing about standards -
there are so many to choose form (paraphrasing Tanenbaum).

Yes, it's an ISO9660 format CD. I would have liked to have burned the CD as
HS but my PC burning software has no such option. It's an EIDE burner, so I
can't transfer it to the Mac (and, with an SE/30, why would I want to!!).
Any ideas for PC burning software that will do HS formatted CDs?

I'm quoting the book, and thinking back, I kind of doubt that 230k is what
I'm getting. I'll have to run some tests myself and try various phone cords
to find the one with the least "noise".

Man, I hope not (the 8.3 problem). It's a pain... then again, I can live
with it if it means I can see my 60 gig HDD on my Win2K machine!

Which book are you referring to? I have a few technical manuals that came
with my IIgs - the previous owner must have been really hardcore!

Cheers, and thanks.
