That's not what I was saying. I admit Commie users were left
with a d�pliant with "manual" written on. You could barely
learn to load a program from cassette with that.

The User's Guide, right. The d�pliant. Have you ever seen the
*MANUAL* that came with the original Spectrum? It was a complete
BASIC course, plus a description of system variables, MC mnemonics,
programming techniques etc.

I was thinking of that, exactly. I can't imagine how anybody can
write even a simple program on the C64 without that book.
The reason seems obvious to me: while the Spectrum was a home
computer dedicated to the hobbyist, the 64 was meant to play
games and run programs written by other people (the -ooooh!-
"Programmers"!)
