A PowerQUICC 862 (I'm not sure I've got the number right)

go for linbux, it's easiest.

why bother, just stash gcc on it's HDD

dunno, the stuff's dirt cheap, prolly somewhere around 32MB.

Half inch a cheapo PCI SVGA chip and stick an AC97 codec on one of the PowerQUICCs
serial ports.

Make use of another PowerQUICC serial port.

SCSI and USB. I would *not* make an HDD an extra. They're cheap enough anyway, for a small one.

Both standards, but supply neither.

A man walks into a bar and asks for an entendre.
"Single or double?" "Double."
He gave him one.
