finally have my IIgs networked to my mac and pc/web (thanks to the
folks in this newsgroup) so I'm in the process of recreating the disks
for all of those games that have FINALLY made their way into the
public domain (thanks to the authors). I'm trying to remember the name
of a game for the apple ][ that put you in the role of a space
traveler - you started in a space station, then selected a planet to
colonize - then planted crops/etc. as a farmer on the planet raising
family/money - you could also choose what career you had.
there was a sequel that started in a station as well but you would
walk around (first person) buying things then traveling to other
planets selling good/etc - it was sort of a first person adventure
game - I think they were called empire and empire 2 - or something -
anyone remember?
If memory serves, the game opened up as you 'created' your character
(giving it points for strenght/etc.) then you woke up from a
hibernation chamber in a space station.
I remember you could sneak contraband but had to enter through certain
'back doors' on some planets - sort of like sundog but in first person
and you didn't have a ship (at least not as far as I got in the game)
but instead bought passage to the other planets - that is in the
sequel - I can't remember much about the 'first' game other than it
took forever to plant crops/etc.
thanks a bunch - this is bugging me alot not remembering the
name/publisher/etc.
