I still have my 1980 Apple ][+, bought with 16K and cassette only! ;-)
Paid $1200 for it, and bought a new cassette deck, 10" color TV, and
Sup'R'Mod the same day. A week later, I ordered another 32K of
4116 chips from JDR for about $60 (saving $250 or so!).

It was upgraded to lower-case, shift-key mod under motherboard, volume
control for speaker and headphone jack. By the time I "retired" it, all slots
were full (semi-standard configuration w/ 3.5" and Vulcan 40, plus CP/M
card, no mouse). In 1983 I added two home-modified SA400 5.25" drives
that pretty well changed my previously cassette-based life!

Around 1986 I got a //e and it hasn't been used more than a few hours
since... But it still works fine!
