I didn't actually try this, I only swapped the loading motor and realized
that the whole 1.4M drive looked identical to the 800K drive, except the
800K has the daisychain board. Oh, and I guess the 1.4M drive can see the
extra hole in the disk as Wayne mentions.

thanks for the tip Michael, I will swap the whole mechanism as this seems to
be the recommendation.
