Ah, yes...the Senior PROM comes immediately to mind!

Far more than a "poor person's Wildcard", the Senior PROM was a
"double" boot ROM, with a high-order address line controlled by a switch,
that allowed the user to switch to a very friendly debug/memory capture
mode instantly.
