Free word processor for Macs that easily opens ProDOS text files.
I recently completed a project in AW3, but wanted a better printout than the
ImageWriter II was providing. I decided to use the ClarisWorks 4.0 that's sort
of on my iMac because I knew that I could use it's multiple columns feature. I
saved the AW3 files as text files on a 1.4Meg disk and tried importing them
into a ClarisWork document.
NO GO!
The files were listed as unreadable because they were ProDOS. I've had some
good luck in the past using the Nisus Compact word processor and this was no
exception. Nisus read the ProDOS text files without a problem. From there, I
used the clipboard to transfer the information to the ClarisWorks document
You can download two different versions of the NisusWriter for FREE at:

My download of the larger version failed, but I've been very pleased with the
compact version.
