8meg diskcopy image from 2mg file?

hi,

I've been trying to convert some of the 2mg disk images back to
diskcopy format to replace some of my damaged IIgs floppies (due to my
setup, it's far easier for me to recreate IIgs disks on my SE/30 from
diskcopy than to try to recreate them from my IIgs). I've used the
imgutil program that comes with the XGS emulator (both pc and mac
version) but all the 2mg images I've tried (gsos 6.0.1 2mg images) get
converted into 8meg (8196k) diskcopy images vs. the expected 800k or
so...

I AM able to open those diskcopy images in diskcopy 4.x AND when
converted back to 2mg (they convert back into 8meg 2mg files), XGS can
open them just fine.

so why are 800k 2mg files being converted into 8meg+ diskcopy images -
it's a pain trying to tranfer the large files back and forth between
my pc,SE/30,and IIgs...
