Depending on the design of your memory card, you might be able to slice off
part of the upper front corner so it'll fit with the IIe lid over it.  I did
this to the RAM-GS in my "stealth GS," as the only things up in that corner
of the board were +5V and ground planes in the inner layers.  There were no
traces in that section of the board, so a minute or two with a Dremel fixed
it.  (Just make sure it's a clean cut...you don't want power-supply layers
to be shorted together.)
