Soft fonts are bitmapped fonts that yur computer can
transfer (download) from a disk file to the Deskjet 500
printer. The Deskjet 500 printer requires a 256K RAM
cartridge to use soft fonts. A maximum of two 256K RAM
cartridges can be installed in the printer. RAM cartridges
cannot be used to increase the printer's input buffer. A
downloading utility and documentation of using soft
fonts is provided with each soft font product.
