the two cables?  I can't seem to get them to communicate. I
have communications set at 9600 baud, 8-N-1 and Xon/Xoff.
It says it will use pin 20 as a DTR handshake.  However there
does not seem to be a driver in GS/OS for PCL III printers.
I can't seem to find the place to check to see what printer
driver is installed.  Is there a control panel to set up the printer?
I have found one to set up the printer port but not select the
printer.  On the Mac, the Finder had a thing called Chooser
which selected the printer for you.  Is there an Apple II
Finder equivalent?  To interface this to the Apple, is there
a drive available for download or is it one of those that
Shareware Solutions sells?  Did HP distribute a driver with
the printer for Apple's?
I don't know if this'll help. You may also try using the parallel port if you can find an appropriate card and cable (it's faster).
I had an HP IIIp connected to my GS. It used PCL5. Maybe you could try using the driver for a IIp or earlier LaserJet model. I'm not sure if the IIp used PCL4 or PCL3. At least with this information it'll cut your search down by more than half.
