Re: Alternatives to an applecolor RGB?

Some possibilites are :

 * Using a simple COMPOSITE -> VGA box, not so good image.

 * The same converter but with the "help" of:

   http://www.amigamaniac.com/RGB_to_PAL_NTSC_adapter.html

Using it with the S-VIDEO port, maybe the easier and cheap method if you dont need/looking for an awesome image.

That's it.

I already have a IIgs, disk drives, etc.

Looking to turn this into a programming teaching tool for my son....

The only think I am missing is a monitor/display for it. Loe and
behold, even older monitors with composite inputs are becoming
difficult to obtain. I am in the major los angeles area, and just
about all my sources have dried up.

What is the best/modern approach to getting this thing wired up? I
know some folks have mentioned using SCART capable monitors, but I am
trying to avoid going to ebay/uk.

I also know some folks mentioned using 'scan doublers' to convert to
VGA. Reading the newsgroups, it would seem that the quality is very
hit/miss ...

So what is the straight scoop? Aside from trying to source of (20+
year old) apple color RGB, what are my options?
