The port you are referring to is designed to work with the IIc flat-panel
LCD screen. You cannot use an RGB monitor with it directly despite pin
compatibility.
Read the following from the FAQ

You need a Telemax Inc. "Peacock" RGB interface, which are almost solid
unobtainium.
