An even more portable Apple IIgs

I've already seen some pictures of "portable" Apple IIgs, but I went
under way on a quest to make me one of these jewels, but even smaller.
So far I know I'm squeezing a a floppy drive in there gutted, with
extreme soldering and wire to accommodate the daisy chain board, the
memory card, a TDX soudcard (I etched it to bare minimum), and a High
speed Scsi card. Well I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to
use for the power supply, but will come later

And as for the video, for the small(?) price of pimping out my Amiga
toaster to so guy, he is constructing me a Active LCD 14" to use as the
Video RGB that I could use to clamshell the system.

Well after all the hours I'm going to spent with a TIG welder, a Dremel,
and aspirin, I'm just wondering what the best board to use in this thing
is. I know that the ROM 1 is the most compatible, but I'm still
debating on trying to take down a ROM 3. Either way, I'm gonna have to
stick the sucker in there sideways.

Oh, you might ask, Why would I go through the trauma and headaches of
trying to squeeze all that stuff in there, upto and including etching
smaller versions of some of the boards, when I could put an emulator on
a PC laptop? Easy. You might know tons of people with x86 and
PowerBook laptops. But when was the last time you saw someone with a
16-bit 658xx Apple pizzabox, sit down at the library and type away. I
guess it's an ego think.....
