Well I decided to do some more testing with my Toshiba 4x drive
mentioned above, this time with an Apple High-Speed SCSI card.
The same type of behavior occurred--discs appeared on the Finder
desktop as hardisk icons and treated as non-removeable devices.
I had to reboot to mount a new disc each time (disc inserts were
totally ignored, just as they were with the RamFAST).
I didn't test the XM3301E with the High-Speed SCSI, but I assume
it'll exhibit identical behavior. I'm guessing both these CD drives
are set up for a Sun machine (either jumpering or the ROM firmware).
It's too bad since they seem to read most CD-R's I have here.
