    Yes, but it requires a plug-in accelerator product. The Zip Chip 
and Rocket Chip (a tall 40-pin DIP CPU replacement) came in
models that ranged from 4 MHz to 10 MHz. 

    There were also plug-in slot cards as well, the most popular one
being the TransWarp. I have an old Titan Accelerator II (3.5 MHz)
board myself, though I think it may be in need of repair.

    Any type of accelerator for the Apple II (including the IIgs) are
extremely difficult to find these days.
