Those switches are a nightmare. You have to set the jumper
block AND the switches to switch between terminal/modem???
I got another plotter, DIP switches on it are set for:
2400 baud
7 data bits
1 stop bit
Even parity
I cannot get the thing to work. I get the "ERROR" light to come
on with some switch settings and I try to print to it.
I have the plotter manual.
o Data transmission:
Asynchronous { DTR
{ XON/OFF
o Data Transmission speed
600,1200,2400 (selectable by switch)
o Stop bit
1,1.5,2 (selection by switch)
o Parity
even,odd, none (selection by switch)
o Data length
7 bit, 8 bit (selection by switch)
o Electrical Characteristics
Input voltage levels +5v to +12V
-5V to -12v
Output voltage levels +6V typ.
-6V typ.
Can you suggest which switch/jumper block settings to use with
the device?
The device manual states that it is RS-232-C
