Re: MacShrinkit

As Marsha pointed out:

<A HREF="http://www.nulib.com/";>http://www.nulib.com/</A>

...yes indeed - you can use Nulib or as Liam said wait until -..."the LZH
patent expires in 2002. Not a long time to wait." -- then there is always the
Apple II and IIgs emulators to use with ShrinkIt and ShrinkIt IIgs. All that
requires is just another step to get ShrinkIt working on your Mac (either 68k
or PPC machines) there's plenty of A2 and GS emulators for use with them all
and they are FREE.

I've been on the Internet for the past seven years now. And, I can certainly
wait until the LZH patent expires in 2002 to coordinate the development of a
MacShrinkIt (Shrink II clone) application for the Mac.

BTW, I've found many bugs that cause problems with both Shrink II and Balloon
when they attempt to deal with certain NuFx archives. I'm sure Sheppy, Ross,
a2central.com and whoever else is dealing with distribution of those two
programs can sell many during the rest of the time before the LZH patent
expires in 2002. Perhaps they might even be able to fix some of the bugs
present in those two programs also.

After all there are so many skilled programmers in that circle of the exclusive
distribution for the programs - Shrink II and Balloon.

Currently neither of them can do all that ShrinkIt IIgs can do via a IIgs
emulator on a Mac. So, hey Penman - there are other alternatives available
besides going to Sheppy for Shrink II.

Cheers,
Tom
