Not having a 580 to test it with I can't really say. However Drive Setup on
more
recent Macs will format and partition an ide drive into One Mac and one ProDOS
partition. It only requires that the ide drive not be the boot drive and that
you're
setting the ProDOS partition at 32mb or less. I just used Drive Setup version
2.0.3 to do that with a 4gb ide drive. I don't know if that's the situation is
with
earlier versions
