Well, 'the market' consists largely of a group of friends and fellow users with
a common interest. It is only fair to pay the one who puts it all together for
them, provides a common ground and a link to others, and generally keeps things
running. This is especially true for older folks or people who are not online.
It's a real lifeline for them. So what if it isn't a significant amount of
money. Just the fact that someone is still willing to do it is someting of a
miracle.
I believe that if I started up my newsletter again today, I would make a few
thousand dollars. Not worth it, given the time spent and the constant
interference from outside.
