Also, The IIGS version has "off disk" copy protection, meaning you can
freely copy the disks or run the program from a Hard Disk, but it prompts
you for the master ("key") disk (the original disk) before continuing the
game. I'm assuming the // version does this as well.
I don't know if there are "cracked" versions out there or not. I have
"Where in the World" on the original 3.5 disks, and it is a fun game.
Documentation is probably essential if you've never played before, and does
contain the V.I.L.E. villains dossiers which you need to obtain a search
warrant. The villains dossiers can also be accessed through the game via a
pull-down menu in the GS version. I never got the dictionary type thing you
mentioned with my copy, and I bought it new, retail, in '90 or so.
