Dana,
The 'standard' limit is 32 megs. With the hfs (macintosh) file system,
the limit goes way up. The trouble with hfs is there aren't any repair
utilities for the IIGS. Also you need to get the patched hfs fst (file
system translator) to avoid corruption.
I have a number of 32 meg partitions on my hard drive and then a large
hfs to fill it out. Different scsi cards have varying limits on the
number of partitions.
I heard about some problem with some scsi card if the partition was
exactly 32 megs and so make mine a little less. I make the partitions
the same size so they can be copied by blocks instead of files. This is
good for identical backups. And faster.
