Re: Networking?
I have somewhat of a net put together that fits this general situation. It
includes humm let me count..6 PCs, 6 Macs, 3 GSs, 2 IIe(s) a Commodore, the
refrigerator, and ....well, you get the picture..
I haven't updated the pictures and descriptions in a while so what is posted
on my page is a wee bit dated, but if you are interested in following the
travails of a network junkie check out www.wvi.com/~barpri/mynet.htm and
follow the various links for updates.
I DO run Appleshare 3.0 so my 2 IIe(s) can boot up on the net (though they
don't really need to; 1 has a CMS SCSI card and 2 drives, the other sports a
Focus drive), but since I have the 2 Workstation cards I just have this
uncontrolable urge to network. I figure it is like my son's mania about
plugging model train parts together...
BTW one update since the network above: I added a Mac IIci running NetBSD with
2 NICs to act as a firewall. It only thakes a 100 meg disk and the above
machine so it is a really cheap firewall design. Do a search with google.com
and check the various NetBSD links for info. That's how I did it.
