     Thanks. Since you are on a ROM 3, the ADB IC problem is not very likely.
(Actually, it seems like it was fixed by the time the first genuine ROM-01
boards were released in 1987.)

     If you do not need to do any networking of your IIgs, pulling all of the
AppleTalk drivers, inits, ... will avoid future problems.

     About booting floppies ... there are a couple ways things can go wrong.
If the system crashes, you will not always be able to force a good reboot via
the OpenApple-Control-Reset route. Another problem is that, with an
accelerator, your 3.5" floppy drives may not always be recognized upon
power-up unless a diskette is present. (To get the drives recognized, you may
have to turn off the computer and power-On again.)


     Since you get the weird glitching at the start of some sessions, simple
over-heating is pretty well ruled out. On the other hand, heating during a
period of use may lead to pin movement when the machine is turned Off and
cools-- so, you have problems the next time you start up.

     Michael's idea of re-seating IC's (plugs, cables) on the Transwarp could
fix things. Also be sure to clean the card contacts.
