That part of the FAQ is sort of dated. A number of people have repaired 3.5"
UniDisks by replacing the mechanism with an 800k one from a Mac. I've done it a
couple times myself,. it's a very easy repair. Using a 1.44mb mechanism doesn't
work though, lots of I/O errors but I had to try that just out of curiosity
