Hello,
I just picked up a Laser 128EX for cheap. It came with the power supply and
an external disk drive. I brought it home, hooked it up to my IIe monitor and
turned it on... There is a flash of video like the RAM is clearning, and then
black.... I tried using the disk that came with it, but it's garbage... I
think it's for a TRS-80..hehe...
Anyways, I got one of my DOS 3.3 masters and booted it up. It reads the
disk from the internal drive ok. I tried typing junk and it beeps at every
line. Basic command don't get the beep, so I assume the computer is
functional. I also tried catalog and the disk spins up with that command...so
I can safely assume the system is functioning... but not putting out any
video..
I hooked it up to my VCR and sure enough, it's sending out an all black
screen... not just a dead signal. Does anyone know what could be causing this?
Or a possible fix? The machine is perfect cosmetically and I would like to
put it to good use...
Thanks,
Bret
