Re: Question: Multiple Super Serial Card ][s in //e?

This is a tricky question.

I used a parallel card with an Okidata printer for several years. Now I
have a Serial Pro (SSC compatible) and an Imagewriter II. Both generally
work well within their capabilities.

A parallel card will work directly with more contemporary printers,
including Deskjets and laser printers. And that's great for printing text,
but there are few 8-bit programs that support graphics printing on those
type of printers. One that does is Publish It! which will print to
certain Postscript lasers thru an SSC.

Then there are programs that assume you have an Imagewriter and won't
print to anything else. For maximum compatibility it's hard to beat an SSC
and IW II.

So the first step would be to get a printer that does what you need to do
and then get the card that it needs to connect to.
