Actually, you are better off having a PC. (There's more good A2 support
software for PC than Mac.)

You can download hundreds of good utilities and games on .dsk image from
Asimov, Uni-kl.de, GS WorldView, and Ground. These are easy to transfer using
ADTgs v.91:

1- Download ADTgs v.91 at ...
 ftp://ground.ecn.uiowa.edu/apple2/Emulators/
 http://206.14.25.120/~cturley/a2zine/Utils/ (in ADT122_GS_cc.zip)

2- Connect your IIgs modem serial port to a PC COM port using a NULL modem
adaptor or cable. (See http://home.swbell.net/rubywand/Csa2T1TCOM.html .)

3- Follow the directions included with ADTgs to transfer the ADT file to a DOS
3.3 diskette on your IIgs.

4- Start up ADT and transfer all the 5.25" .dsk images you like to diskettes on
your IIgs.

For info on ADT, see http://home.swbell.net/rubywand/Csa2T1TCOM.html .

For information about getting DOS 3.3 (in case you do not have it) click
on "Getting DOS 3.3" at http://206.14.25.120/~cturley/a2zine/Sel/index.html .

For info about disk image files, see

http://home.swbell.net/rubywand/Csa2FLUTILS.html#006 .

Some of the utilites you get via ADT will allow you move up to regular
NULL modem file transfers. Then, you'll be able to transfer piles of IIgs
software on 3.5" ShrinkIt files (from places like Ground, IIgs Gaming Memory
Fairway, TFFE, XGS, ...) .
