Archives of disks are independent of individual files and their
structures. For example, 8-bit Shrinkit can archive a 5.25" DOS 3.3 disk
or a 3.5" disk with GS extended (forked) files. It can also extract them
as a disk. I haven't used GS Shrinkit, but I would expect it to be able to do
the same.
Since you are getting a message about forked files, it sounds like you are
trying to extract individual files from the archive. If that is the case,
you are correct, 8-bit Shrinkit cannot handle forked files.
TO.SHRINKIT by Douglas Gum (OPS Software) is an 8-bit program that can
extract the data fork. I have patched a version to extract the resource
fork. As far as I know it is the only 8-bit version that can do that.
TO.SHRINKIT requires AppleWorks 3.0 (or later) with TimeOut installed.
I am surprised that an Eamon archive has a forked file since requiring one
would limit the game to a GS. Which file is it?
