I tired to post this once but I don't see it so here it is again:
I recently built a laserwriter IIg out of 2 different busted printers. I have
a problem. I can print to it fine via my net from either Macs or PCs but the
GS gives this message: "There seems to be some problem printing to the
selected printer. Please check your control panel settings and try again." I
get this same message from 3 different GS(s) on my net. The Laserwriter is on
the ethernet leg, the GS on the localtalk.
See www.teleport.com/~barpri/mynet.htm for a description and an old picture of
the schematic of it all. It is not quite like that pic anymore, but I haven't
gotten around to updating the web page in a little while. I also now have a
Imagewriter II with a net-card on the Localtalk leg and it can be printed to
just fine from PC, Mac or GS (OR IIe for that matter).
Any idea what my problem might be? I have totally reinstalled the system on
one GS tonite and it sees the printer in Net Printer, oh and also it can
successfully d/l the imagewriter emulation to the printer too, at least I do
get the printout that says it did.
I am at a loss folks. Ideas would be most welcome
Thanks,
-Bart
