Emails have started to come in, and I thought that I'd post some
clarifications:
1.) Your country of origin does not matter. I am located in the US, but as
long as you provide appropriate postage, etc., I will send the Vault DVD
wherever.
----
2.) There are two options for receiving the Vault DVD set:
a.) if you send a SASE and NOTHING ELSE, you will only get a DVD set of the
Vault archive as it looked on 09 Sep 09. I already have these DVDs made.
OR
b.) if you send a SASE and 1 DVD-R or 3 CD-Rs, you will get EVERYTHING up to
18 Jul 11 (last Vault update). The Vault updates since 09 Sep 09 must be
burned to disc.
----
3.) What you will receive:
The Vault DVD set contains approximately 30,000 files.
These files are split into 3 categories:
- Apple II
- Apple IIgs
- Macintosh
Each of these three categories is further split into three more categories:
- Info (consisting of ASCII and PDF files)
- Photos
- Software
Finally, each of these three categories is further split by logical
topic/subject.
The Usenet archive is not included because it still resides in a cluster of
databases, (which are troublesome to send via optical disc) but I am
exploring the possibility of creating an HTML "web site" which could be
distributed easily on disc.
