Using CD for file transfers is an interesting idea. Now that CD burners
are so common and CD's are so cheap, it may be a pretty good way to go.

On a //e, yes. The current version of DSK2FILE can handle several image
conversion chores.

DSK2FILE is not too picky about filetype. (It does not matter whether or
not ProDOS thinks a .dsk file is a disk image.) Mainly, the .dsk (or .do or
.po) file needs to be uncorrupted.

In many cases an image will be in .nib form just to preserve DOS 3.3
volume number. These .nib's can be copied to a .dsk image (via Disk Muncher
running on an emulator). Then, on your Apple II (or LC A2 Card) the .dsk
image can be transferred to a diskette INITed for the correct volume number.

The LC FAQs site is
http://www.mandrake.demon.co.uk/Apple/lc_card_faq.html . You could email the
person who wrote the those FAQs-- Phil Beesley
(beesley@mandrake.demon.co.uk).

There is some information about using/converting disk images in the
newsgroup FAQs at http://home.swbell.net/rubywand/Csa2FLUTILS.html .
