I was just playing a few of those type of games again the other day.
I played a little of Rogue, Castle Metacus and Moria. These were
fantasy role-playing games using text to give you an overhead view of
the area with different letters and symbols representing different
monsters and objects. They had lots of keyboard commands to get to
know too.
I remember having a lot of fun playing these games, especially Moria,
many years ago.
PC users may be familiar with a similar game for that platform called
NetHack.
