In the same way, someone who lived in a house made of, and including
furniture made of, human bones, human skin, etc, would certainly
consider killing of humans a "good thing".
 
You just defined "good" as "useful to yourself".  That's a dangerous
definition, because by that definition, e.g. stealing and robbery is
"good" because it'll provide you with money which you may find
useful...
 
To the tree it's certainly not "good" to be killed, chopped up, and
then used as building material.  To you, it's certainly not "good" if
you, your wife or your kids were killed by a lion -- but to the lion
it would definitely be "good" to have dinner....
 
As you see, "good" is not an objective property but a very
subjective property.
