The main operating systems for 8-bit Apple II's consist of built-in
Applesoft BASIC plus DOS 3.3 or ProDOS booted from diskette. For some
info on your particular Apple II see ...
http://home.swbell.net/rubywand/A2FAQs5MAINHALL.html .
You can download DOS 3.3 from the net and transfer it to an 8-bit
Apple II with a serial card using a NULL modem connection. (See
http://home.swbell.net/rubywand/Csa2DOSMM.html#023 .)
Once you have DOS 3.3, you can transfer ADT and use it to get
hundreds of DOS 3.3 and ProDOS disks from the net and to your Apple II.
(See http://home.swbell.net/rubywand/Csa2T1TCOM.html .)
Or, you can contact a regular poster to this newsgroup via email
and request some 'getting started' disks. (Expect to pay something for
postage and materials.)
Another option is to buy some disks from an Apple II software
seller. See http://home.swbell.net/rubywand/A2FAQs3VENDORS.html .
