that the mouse port runs 5v and standard RS-232 runs 12v.  RS-232 is
what the Palm normally plugs in to on the back of your regular PC.  If
you plug your palm cradle into the mouse port of a IIc, you may
obliterate the mouse port and possibly the palm in the cradle.  Of
course I've never checked the voltages on a live palm.

Of course this is not an issue if you use the serial port.  The cradle
interface was designed to work a standard serial port.  Get a IIc modem
cable to convert the Din5 to a standard DB25 plug.  Then use your the
9-25 adapter that came with the Palm, then plug in your palm cradle. 
Fairly strait forward, no special wiring required.

Correct connections would be:
IIc, Modem cable, 25-9, Palm synch cradle, Palm, no wiring involved.

If you need a hardware adapter, IIs to 9pin, I'm sure I can can build
one for you so you can get past the hardware connectivity issue.  Start
reading up on how to access the IIc serial port.
